Support Kenny Capps as he runs over 1,000 miles for
Research, Community and Hope!
On Sunday, April 1, 2018 (with a little help from my friends) I will start running from Jockey’s Ridge State Park on the Outer Banks of North Carolina will follow the Mountain To Sea Trail for about 1,000 miles all the way to Clingman’s Dome at the western end of the state. I am calling the event “Throwing Bones” as an homage to my Deadhead roots, the bones that cancer has punched, and as a reminder to go all-in.
I will spend the next year and half training and preparing for this trip by staying healthy, mostly listening to my doctors and killing it on the trails. I’m quickly building up a fantastic team and with their support, and yours, I am going to get there!
I will be benefiting three different groups with this run:
Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF)
Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University Hospital (where I had my bone marrow transplant)
Friends of the Mountains-To-Sea Trail (Where I will be running almost 1,000 miles)
Beginning in October 2016, I will participate in a series of training runs/races as a means of preparing for the Throwing Bones Run. I will use each event as a platform for fundraising, sponsor promotion and advocacy for my cause.
