Scotch bonnets are nowhere near hot enough to be among the hottest peppers. It’s 100,000 to 350,000 Scoville heat units, which we consider extra-hot, not super-hot on our hot pepper list. I realize this is to an old comment, but I’ll give my opinion for others that may come here. The reaper is still officially the hottest chili and, gram per gram, still a bit higher that the Ch. Bhutlah. But really, when you’re talking about 2 million+ SHU heat, a difference of 1-200,000 SHU is not going to be noticeable to most tongues, mouths, stomachs and other body parts. The Bhutlah seems hotter to some because if you eat a single pepper, the Bhutlah is huge compared to the Reaper so, yeah, you’re getting more capsaicin per pepper. But both will certainly take to places you may or may not want to go.

Personally I use both and can’t tell the difference in heat, but I prefer the Reaper for the flavor.
