Peach Habanero Salsa

Turn your salsa to 11! There’s so much to love about this peach habanero salsa recipe. First, the heat – habanero peppers are wicked spicy. Especially if you leave the pepper’s membrane in the mix (where much of the heat sits.) Second, the peach and mango mix just works so well with the sweetness of this chili. It all just pops, like a tropical wildfire in your mouth.

Peach habanero salsa

It’s not only big and bold in flavor, peach habanero salsa is also very healthy. The habanero and fruit provide the sweetness, onion provides bite and earthiness, lime juice some tang, and the only added spices are cilantro, salt, pepper. It’s a very clean list, and with so much flavor.

There are so many ways to use this salsa. It’s of course delicious just on its own, served with tortilla chips. It’s got a lot of chunkiness to it, so this is a salsa that eats like a light meal. Or try it as a side for grilled chicken or pork. Those white meats work extremely well with the tropical fruitiness here. Frankly, so does steak, but peach habanero salsa can really bring a rather dull piece of chicken to life. Also, don’t overlook this salsa as a topper for both fish tacos and regular tacos. Both work well.

A note on the pepper: Habaneros have become very popular, but know this is an extra-hot chili. They range from 100,000 to 350,000 Scoville heat units, well above the 2,500 to 8,000 mark of the jalapeño. Treat it with respect while cooking, especially since you’re dicing it down. Wear gloves and watch touching your eyes, or get ready for some serious chili burn. We recommend learning how to treat that burn before starting.

  • Jalapeño Mango: If a hab is a little too much, this recipe hits with a low-medium spiciness.
  • Cherry: Chilies and cherries may not be the first combo that comes to mind, but once you taste this salsa, that’ll change.
  • Strawberry jalapeño: This may be our favorite for a hot day. So sweet and a very eatable heat.
  • Kiwi and jalapeño: The kiwi is paired with fresh ginger which gives this one some exotic bite.
  • Pineapple Habanero: If you love the habanero heat, but peaches aren’t your thing, this pineapple salsa is delicious, too.
